The dynamic duo CATJAM have been busy building a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge on the vintage remix scene in recent times. Known for their signature sound, Scallywag Swing, they have been bringing Garage, Bassline & Jungle to the Vintage Remix crowd. Their bass-laden, fast paced DJ sets have been getting feet stomping and hips wiggling at a host of UK festivals, as well as putting in performances at some of the best Electro Swing and Vintage Remix events across the land.
Recently the pair have been back in the studio cooking up the finest garage beats and booty-shaking bass.
The title track from the EP is a classic CATJAM jam – with nothing but good fun vibes this one is set to be a firm favourite with festival crowds this year. With bouncy beats, wonky bass and super catchy brass stabs, Swing The Cat is set to be bouncing round your brain for some time. Catmandu VIP is a reworking of a CATJAM classic featuring the vocal talents of Offbeat. A phat groovy bassline fused with vintage jazzy hooks, delicate 2 step beats and gnarly twisted amen cuts give this track a fresh new sound. Illicit Licks shows us CATJAM’s jungle roots with broody 1920s brass paired with some serious jungle choppage and deep basslines on the drop.
