Message To The G-Men

The year is 1929 and organised crime has been running rampant on the streets of the city.  To combat this the government had formed a special team of federal agents called G-Men to take the mob head on.  The mob had had it easy for too long but they weren’t going to just give up their hold on the city.  The sun was setting over the city as the mob gathered in their hideout. They knew that the G-men were coming for them, and they were determined to make their last stand by whatever means necessary.  It was time they sent a message, a message to the G-Men to let them know if they came for them, there was going to be blood and lot’s of it.

C@ In The H@ (pronounced Cat In The Hat), known for his unique fusion of old timey swing samples, chunky beats and bouncy basslines, takes us back to his signature sound with this release.  Splicing 1930s gangster movie samples with big brass hooks and phat basslines.

The A side ‘Message to the G-Men’ is a track full of energy, reminiscent of jump up dnb but with C@’s signature swing beat groove.  C@ treats us to a selection of synth basses interlaced with 1930s gangster movie samples and brass rises.  The B side ‘Kill the Bill’ is the more sinisiter of the tracks on the release – A tearing reese bass, a darker brass lick and oldskool jungle padding gives this track it’s darkside character.  Overall classic C@ In The H@ which does not fail to disappoint.  Regular stalwart on the scene since 2012, the C@ has secured himself releases on all the main labels for the genre as well as countless gigs all around the UK and Europe with his signature style ‘Swing with the Big Bass Sound’.
