Coming on 12th June 2026, Ragtime Records are excited to welcome the legends that are Bart & Baker to the label. Forming in 2007, they began as a pair of DJs in Paris’ iconic speakeasy scene, dressed in their standout red and white tuxedos and top hats. Over the years they have put out some of the most iconic releases in the scene, including the ‘Electro Swing’ compilations on Wagram, the ever catchy ‘Istanbul (Not Constantinople)’, and remixes for the likes of Parov Stelar and Caro Emerald.
On this release they team up with the ever charismatic and spellbinding Emma Lea, who has been going from strength to strength with her recent releases. With her unmistakable theatrical vocals and playful style it’s easy to see why every producer in the scene is keen to work with her.
Slumber of Wonder kicks off with an infectiously funky beat and scratch. After the intro Emma’s vocal kicks in, where she takes you on journey into a imaginary world of glittering cabarets, curious characters and childlike wonder. Bart & Baker have fully delivered on the production: Tight funky beats, fresh keys, and a sweet vintage brass section flows through the track taking you away on a slumber of wonder.
Floating between dreamscape fantasy and roaring swing energy, Slumber of Wonder is coming 12th June 2026.
Bart & Baker are two peas in a pod, blending seamlessly to create a unique musical style and sound…. Although they come from different musical backgrounds, together they build a bridge between the acoustic tradition of “feel good” tunes, and the constant reinvention of electronic beats.
