Don’t Start No Stuff

Time to get grooving across the room with the Fritz’s big beat remix of

Don’t Start No Stuff

Next up in the Harlem Hamfats remix series is Ragtime’s favourite Swing Lo Fi
producer, The Fritz, as he puts his own magical spin on ‘Don’t Start No Stuff’,
dropping 9th December 2025.
Harlem Hamfats, formed in 1936, were known for their own brand of dirty blues and
very danceable music, which blended Blues, Dixieland, and Jazz Swing. Don’t Start
No Stuff featured a catchy vocal hook and a drunk trumpet line which portrays the
feeling of wild nights out in the speakeasys of the day.
The Fritz pays some healthy homage to the original on this one, keeping the main
vocal hook of the original and some quality sample-play of the brass and woodwind
lines. When it comes to the rhythm section, The Fritz takes treats us to the dopest
beat and groove, ensuring big time dancing across the room…. no heads with be left
un-nodded and no legs will be left un-shaked.
The Fritz. Hailing from Falmouth, UK, The Fritz is known for his jazzy sample-based
lo-fi glitchy bangers. Always digging deep, his works give a nod to the Golden Era of
Hip Hop with a boom bap style and blend of vintage film noir samples.
