Harlem Hamfats, formed in 1936, were known for their own brand of dirty blues and very danceable music, which blended Blues, Dixieland, and Jazz Swing. The original Root Hog Or Die was characterized by a emotive trumpet and melancholy vocal. DJ Mibor, known for his lively upbeat tracks, flips the original on it’s head and turns it into a party piece. With wonderfully warm synth lines, and delicate but precise drumwork the track keeps them toes tapping and heads nodding. Mibor also converts the original melancholy vocal into a talk box esc tuneful riff, which is totally needed and takes the track to a whole new level of good vibes.
DJ Mibor Is currently one of the leading representatives of the Swing House in Spain. He began his career as a DJ in the late 90’s heavily influenced by Classic Jazz, Swing and Soul. He made his recording debut in 2002, where his work was selected as young talent at the San Sebastian festival Elektronikaldia 03. His passion and dedication for music has seen him perform all across Europe, as well as having releases on such labels as High Note, Ministry of Sound, FLAK Records, Electro Swing Club among many others.

Harlem Hamfats. Chicago jazz band formed in 1936. Initially, they mainly provided backup music for jazz and blues singers, such as Johnny Temple, Rosetta Howard, and Frankie Jaxon, for Decca Records.Their first record, “Oh! Red”, became a hit, securing them a Decca contract for fifty titles, and they launched a successful recording career performing their own brand of dirty blues, dixieland and swing.
