The Lost Rag

C@ In The H@ (pronounced Cat In The Hat) is known for his unique fusion of old timey swing samples, chunky beats and bouncy basslines. Regular stalwart on the scene since 2012, the C@ has secured himself releases on all the main labels for the genre as well as countless gigs all around the UK and Europe.

Over lockdown, C@ decided it was time he started learning to properly play piano, regularly tuning into his favourite pianist Arthur Migliazza. While brushing up on his piano playing techniques one day he reached out, the pair got talking, and a new co-lab soon came about.

Arthur Migliazza is an award-winning blues and boogie-woogie pianist who began wowing audiences at the age of 13. Arthur is known around the world for his stylistic authenticity and virtuoso technique, as well as being one of the most prominent teachers of the boogie-woogie piano style.

Together they venture into unexplored musical terrain in their first col-lab track,The Lost Rag. On production, C@ gives us his punchiest drums and bounciest bass house wobbles, the kind you can feel in your chest. Arthur lays down the piano with a solid stride rhythm in the left hand and a dazzling piano solo in the right. From the back-alley brothels of yesteryear to the electro swing clubs of tomorrow, The Lost Rag is the evolution of dance music.
